Bubbles! Sparkling Wine Pack
There’s always an occasion for BUBBLES! Here are 3 of Dani’s [current] favorite sparkling wines from some pretty awesome places:
Gosset Grande Reserve Brut Champagne (France) $70 value
Contratto Millesimato Pas Dose (Alto Langa, Italy) $35 value
Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs Brut (California) $45 value
About the wines:
Gosset Grande Reserve Brut Champagne: founded in the town of Ay in 1584, Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne. But that’s not why we picked it as the featured Champagne in this pack—the Grande Reserve is a great balance of brisk, fresh fruit and toasty, biscuity richness. It’s both a crowd pleaser and classic expression of why Champagne is so famous. We also love the old-school packaging and bottle shape!
Contratto Millesima Pas Dose: this is a relative rarity in Italian sparkling wines which is exactly why it was chosen for this pack. This bubbly comes from the Alta Langa subregion in Piemonte, Italy (northwestern region). Alta Langa is the only region in Piemonte dedicated to sparkling wines and is rarely seen on store shelves. “Pas Dose” means absolutely no dosage (sugar) is added, showcasing a very mineral-driven, austere edge to it. Plus these bottles are all hand-riddled (another rarity) and you can see the mark by looking at the bottom of the bottle…so fun!
Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs Brut: If you’ve been to a bubbles class with Dani before, you might be aware of her loyalty to Schramsberg as one of her top American choices for sparkling wine. So of COURSE we had to include it in this pack.
Most people are familiar with the “Blanc de Blancs” label, but the “Blanc de Noirs” is our favorite. Being made from red grapes only, the Blanc de Noirs has a bit more structure and depth while still remaining a crowd pleaser.
